Wedoany.com Report-Jan 24, Voltalia has been selected by Brazilian utility Copel to provide maintenance services for connections for six wind farms, totalling 940MW, located in Rio Grande do Norte.
The five-year agreement covers wind farms in the Brisa Potiguar, Cutia and Bento Miguel, Sao Bento do Norte, Jandaira, Aventura and Santa Rosa Mundo Novo complexes.
The project focuses on preventive and corrective maintenance of collector substations, medium-voltage networks and 138 and 230 kV transmission lines, plus local operation of interconnection facilities and spare parts management.
Copel has held a minority stake in Voltalia's SMG wind farm (108MW) since 2015. It is also one of the counterparties to the long-term power purchase agreements totalling 270MW for Voltalia's solar power plants (SSM1 and 2) and has purchased 187MW of wind assets (VSM2 and VSM4)1, which have been developed and are operated by Voltalia.
Voltalia operates approximately 4.1GW in the state of Rio Grande do Norte, of which 1.3GW are for its own account and 2.8GW for third-party customers.
