Wedoany.com Report-Jan 24, Public utility company Santee Cooper is seeking buyers for two partially built nuclear units at the V.C. Summer Nuclear Station in Jenkinsville, South Carolina, it said on Wednesday.
The project was scrapped in July 2017 after two utilities, Santee Cooper and Scana-owned South Carolina Electric & Gas Co (SCE&G), had spent about $9 billion developing it.
Santee Cooper has engaged Centerview Partners LLC to conduct a request for proposal (RFP) seeking interested parties to acquire the project and its associated assets, it said.
The RFP is open for parties interested in completing one or both units, or exploring alternative uses for the assets, it added. Proposals are to be submitted by May 5.
