Wedoany.com Report-Mar 31, Renewable energy company Vindr has secured investment in five new wind park projects in Latvia. The Nordic developer plans to invest up to €600 million, with a total capacity exceeding 600 megawatts. Vindr’s country manager in Latvia, Baiba Zauere, commented on the significance of this achievement, stating, “We are happy to have secured the rights to develop wind parks in multiple new locations. This is a crucial step not only for our company but also for Latvia’s energy development.” He emphasized that Latvia is well-positioned for wind energy production and aims to enhance its energy security and independence.
In addition to the wind projects, Vindr is also investing €2 million in a solar park near Līvāni. Before construction begins, the company will conduct environmental impact and technical studies. The project will also require extensive approval processes involving Latvian and local government institutions.
Vindr plans to engage with local communities around the wind farm development sites to address concerns and ensure social harmony. This comprehensive approach highlights the company’s commitment to responsibly advancing renewable energy initiatives in Latvia.
