Brazil’s Grupo CCR Commits to Large Neoenergia Wind Complex

Wedoany.com Report-Nov 12, Brazilian utility company Neoenergia SA (BVMF:NEOE3) announced today that local mobility infrastructure company Grupo CCR will become a partner in three of the wind farms within the 566.5-MW Neoenergia Oitis wind power complex in the state of Piaui.

The deal will give CCR access to the energy produced by the Oitis 2, Oitis 4 and Oitis 6 wind parks. Their output will meet 60% of the company's current demand.

No financial information about the transaction was disclosed. Its completion is subject to clearance by the local regulatory agencies, the Brazilian subsidiary of Spain's Iberdrola SA noted.

The wider wind power complex is comprised of 12 wind parks featuring a total of 103 turbines, each with an individual capacity of 5.5 MW. Overall, it is capable of generating enough clean electricity to meet the demand of a city with 2.7 million inhabitants.
