Wedoany.com Report-Apr. 3, The Hyundai Nexo FCEV, a groundbreaking hydrogen fuel cell vehicle, has been unveiled at the Seoul Mobility Show in South Korea. This advanced concept car, inspired by the Initium design concept introduced by Hyundai in October 2020, represents a significant evolution in the EV and FCEV design landscape. Unlike its predecessor, the Nexo FCEV features a more rugged and blocky design, with a pronounced upright structure and contrasting black fender flares, accentuating its contemporary aesthetic.
Under the hood, the Nexo FCEV is powered by a 2.64 kWh battery pack, a hydrogen fuel cell stack delivering 147 horsepower (110 kilowatts), and a single electric motor producing 201 horsepower (150 kilowatts). The vehicle boasts a 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) acceleration time of just 7.8 seconds, showcasing its impressive performance capabilities. The hydrogen tank has also been upgraded to a more substantial 14.7 pounds (6.69 kilograms), enhancing its range potential to over 435 miles (700 kilometers). Hyundai has emphasized the vehicle's advanced mobility solutions, highlighting its ability to extend driving range and improve overall efficiency.
The Nexo FCEV also incorporates industry-leading features such as the vehicle-to-load function, digital side mirrors, and a European market-specific towing capacity of 2,200 pounds (1,000 kilograms). Inside, the cabin draws inspiration from popular Hyundai models like the Sante Fe and Palisade, featuring a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch infotainment display, and a 14-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system. The cabin also includes a dedicated slim touch panel for climate control, a wireless smartphone charger, a digital rearview mirror, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.
While Hyundai has not yet provided specific pricing or availability details for the Nexo FCEV, further information is expected to become available in the coming months. This advanced EV represents a significant milestone in Hyundai's quest to lead the hydrogen fuel cell vehicle market, offering a blend of cutting-edge technology and user-friendly design.
