Wedoany.com Report-Mar 12, Global coatings leader BASF Coatings and Chinese smart electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer NIO recently signed a Letter of Intent (LoI) to establish a strategic partnership, strengthening collaboration in the field of automotive coatings, according to a post on BASF's WeChat account.
BASF said this agreement marks a significant step toward a long-term, mutually beneficial relationship, with a particular focus on body coatings for NIO's electric vehicles.
The agreement provides a framework for ongoing discussions between the two companies, facilitating annual strategic dialogues to refine the implementation of their partnership. Both sides will work together to build a collaborative platform covering market and customer development, project management, and information exchange.
As part of the partnership, BASF Coatings will supply NIO with a wide range of products tailored to specific technical requirements while also offering value-added services such as color design, color development, digital solutions, sustainability programs, workshops, and industry-leading technical support.
Uta Holzenkamp, President of BASF Coatings, emphasized the significance of this collaboration, stating, "Today's agreement builds on a decade of successful cooperation.
