Eurowind to Build BESS at 85MW Solar-Wind Park

2025-03-12 10:19

Wedoany.com Report-Mar 12, Eurowind Energy is developing one of Denmark’s largest battery energy storage systems (BESS) in a joint project with BOS Power.

Eurowind Energy will develop and install the BESS at its 84.8MW GreenLab Skive hybrid solar and wind plant.

BOS Power will act as the system integrator delivering a 45MWh, two-hour battery system, while Eurowind Energy will provide construction services for the plant.

The facility is expected to be operational by the end of 2025, providing ancillary and frequency control services to Danish transmission system operator Energinet.

This project will contribute to stabilising the national grid while maximising the efficiency of wind and solar power, the developers said.

The BESS will provide fast-response power compensation, balancing fluctuations in wind and solar generation.

“BOS Power’s expertise in large-scale energy storage and renewable integration made them the ideal partner for this ambitious project,” said Eurowind Energy’s global EPC director Morten Gaarde.

“BESS technology is a vital part of our energy parks, ensuring a stable and efficient power supply and grid stability by ancillary services for the benefit of both the local energy supply and the green transition in general.”

BOS Power director of PowerGen Carsten Højerup added: “This is one of many projects with Eurowind Energy, a truly innovative and ambitious partner.

“Eurowind Energy is making a strong impact on the power market as a key player in hybrid energy solutions.

“Their commitment to carbon neutrality and grid stability extends beyond Denmark and positions them as a leader in Europe’s green transition.”
