Wedoany.com Report-Feb 24, Mitsubishi Power has successfully completed the Power Station 5 Block 4 gas turbine combined cycle (GTCC) power plant at Aluminium Bahrain B.S.C. (Alba), marking a significant milestone for both Mitsubishi Power and Alba. The plant, developed in collaboration with SEPCOIII, utilizes Mitsubishi Power's state-of-the-art M701JAC gas turbine and steam turbine, achieving an impressive efficiency of 9,21% and 9,18% respectively. With a combined cycle output of 680.9 MW, this project is a vital step in Alba's sustainable energy strategy and highlights the kingdom's commitment to decarbonization.
The ceremony to celebrate the project's completion was attended by high-level officials from Alba, including the Chairman of the Board Khalid Al Rumaihi, Chief Executive Officer Ali Al Baqali, and an executive management team, alongside representatives from Mitsubishi Power. Mitsubishi Power Vice President, Energy Systems Mr. Takashi Tozawa, and President of Middle East and North Africa Mr. Khalid Salem also attended, underscoring the significance of the milestone.
Mr. Tozawa praised the project, stating that it is a testament to Mitsubishi Power's dedication to supporting Alba's energy goals and advancing Bahrain's Economic Vision 2030.
