Wedoany.com Report-Oct 11,Myclin Express Offshore (MEO Group) and South Korea’s Taihan Cable & Solution have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to collaborate on offshore wind projects.
Together, MEO Group and Taihan plan to foster collaboration on offshore wind projects, especially in South Korea, with the deployment of the Group’s vessels and Taihan’s cable-laying vessels (CLVs).
Based in Singapore, MEO Group runs 14 overseas branches and focuses on providing marine solutions, with a fleet of around 120 vessels, including ones used for offshore wind project support.
When it comes to Taihan Cable & Solution, the company opened the first phase of its submarine cable plant that will supply the offshore wind industry in June this year.
The submarine cable plant, covering around 44,800 square metres behind Godae Pier at Pyeongtaek’s Dangjin Port, is being constructed in two phases. The first phase, which focuses on producing inter-array cables, was finalized and approved in May.
The second phase, which includes facilities for the production of export cables, is currently under construction with plans for completion by the first half of 2025.
