Wedoany.com Report-Dec 03,  CNOOC says the Huizhou 26-6 oilfield development in the Pearl River Mouth Basin and the Jinzhou 23-2 oilfield project in the Bohai Sea will achieve peak production in 2027.

CNOOC has delivered first production from its Huizhou 26-6 oilfield development in the Pearl River Mouth Basin offshore China.

This is the company’s first deep buried hill reservoir project in the South China Sea, in a water depth of about 110 m.

Facilities include what is said to be China’s first "intelligent" drilling production platform and the modified FPSO Nan Hai Fen Jin.

CNOOC plans a total of two oil production wells and 17 gas wells, building to peak production of 20,600 boe/d in 2027.

CNOOC's Jinzhou 23-2 oilfield project in the northern part of Liaodong Bay in the Bohai Sea has also started production.

With an average water depth of about 13 m, the main production facilities are two new central processing platforms. The operator plans to put into operation 67 development wells, including 65 production wells and two water source wells.

The company expects to achieve peak production of about 17,000 boe/d in 2027, and the oil is heavy in nature.

The Jinzhou 23-2 oilfield development project is the first multi-layer heavy oil thermal recovery development project in offshore China. The project adopts the exploitation method of "steam huff and puff + chemically assisted steam flooding" to reduce the viscosity of crude oil, which CNOOC says "effectively improves the production capacity of heavy oil reserves in offshore oilfields and provides a strong guarantee for energy supply in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region."
