Wedoany.com Report-Apr. 14, In March 2025, U.S. farm tractor and combine sales experienced a notable decline, according to the monthly Ag Tractor and Combine Report released by the Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM). Total tractor sales fell by 13.6% compared to March 2024, reflecting ongoing challenges in the agricultural equipment market.
Combine sales were down nearly 40% in March 2025 compared to March 2024.
The tractor sales figures cover both two-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive models. Two-wheel-drive tractor sales dropped by 13.5% in March 2025 compared to the same month last year. Among these, tractors with 100-plus horsepower, designed for more intensive farm work, saw an 18.6% decrease. Four-wheel-drive tractor sales also declined, falling 19.7% from March 2024 levels.
For the first quarter of 2025, overall tractor sales were down 15.1% compared to the same period in 2024, indicating a consistent downward trend across the industry.
Combine sales faced even steeper declines in March 2025. Manufacturers reported 241 units sold, compared to 387 in March 2024, marking a 37.7% drop. For the year to date, combine sales have plummeted by 56.5% compared to the first three months of 2024, highlighting significant market contraction.
