Wedoany.com Report-Dec 27, European Energy has connected a 54MW solar park in Poland to the grid.

Construction of the solar park, near Debnica in West Pomerania, was completed on 21 December.

In Poland, European Energy is driving renewable energy development with nearly 4GW of projects in the pipeline, encompassing wind, solar and battery technologies.

Additionally, the company is advancing over 1.6GW of screening projects in the country.

With the Debnica solar farm now operational, European Energy’s total operating asset capacity in Poland has grown from 131MW to nearly 200MW.

“We are thrilled to have energised our so far largest solar project in Poland.

“This milestone is the result of a tremendous effort by our entire Polish team and establishes us as a key player in Poland’s renewable energy sector,” said Olga Sypula, country manager for European Energy in Poland.

Financing for the Debnica solar farm was secured in August 2024, with Polish bank mBank providing €33.3m in funding for both the Debnica solar park and the Lobez solar park, which European Energy is constructing.

“Our engineering team has accumulated extensive expertise through projects across Europe and overseas.

“It is particularly rewarding to grid connect our largest solar park in Poland, and we are very happy about the good collaboration with local partners in the country,” said Poul Jacobsen, executive vice president and head of EPC at European Energy.

European Energy has been active in the Polish market since 2007 and has offices in Warsaw and Gdynia.
