Wedoany.com Report-Oct 11，Seaway7 has finished the full engineering, procurement, installation, and commissioning (EPIC) work for the cables at the 882 MW Moray West offshore wind farm in Scotland.
Seaway7 has installed 118 kilometres of 66 kV inter-array cables, linking the wind farm’s 60 turbines to two offshore substations, along with an additional 15 kilometres of 66 kV cables connecting the two substations.
The cables were supplied by JDR Cable Systems, and Seaway Aimery carried out the installation.
Seaway7 and JDR Cable Systems won contracts to supply and install the inter-array cables for the Moray West offshore wind farm in November 2022.
The 882 MW project, developed by Ocean Winds, is located in the Moray Firth, approximately 22.5 kilometres from the Caithness coastline.
Moray West had already delivered its first power from Siemens Gamesa’s SG 14-222 DD wind turbines, and the electricity was exported to Scotland’s National Electricity Transmission System (NETS).
