Wedoany.com Report-Nov 22, The Czech Republic’s METRANS Group and Mobility and Innovation Production (MIP) have agreed to begin operational testing of a hydrogen-powered truck in Slovakia.
Under a Letter of Intent, the two companies will begin the testing of the truck, which is reportedly capable of travelling 750km on a single tank powered by its hydrogen fuel cell and motor technology.
As part of the real-world testing, the truck will be deployed for container transport within METRANS’ European network and is scheduled to be fuelled with green hydrogen.
The vehicle will join METRANS’ sustainable fleet of e-trucks, hybrid and electric solutions. On LinkedIn, the company said, “With our combined rail and road solutions, we provide ecological and efficient logistics under one roof.”
METRANS’ CEO, Peter Kiss, claimed he is delighted to have the opportunity to trial a new hydrogen-powered truck for its logistic operations.
“Through innovations like this, we can offer our customers climate-friendly transport not only by rail but also by road. This takes us another important step toward decarbonising European logistics chains.”
The truck and Letter of Intent were both unveiled at the Slovakia Ring in Orechová Potôň. The event also marked the 25th anniversary of METRANS Danubia in Slovakia.
