Wedoany.com Report-Apr. 6, EDPR is conducting an auction of 90 Vestas V162-5.6MW wind turbines, located in Puerto Brisa, La Guajira, and Cartagena, Colombia. The sale will take place online, offering a chance for the global wind energy sector to purchase these advanced machines.
EDPR entered the Colombian market in 2019, targeting regions with high wind potential, such as La Guajira, where the country boasts significant energy production capabilities. However, these turbines were purchased for projects in that area but have faced various regulatory challenges, delaying their implementation.
The wind turbines in question are part of the EnVentus platform and include 90 nacelles, 90 hubs, 90 powertrains, 450 tower sections, 270 blades measuring 79 meters, and cooling units. All components have been maintained by Vestas and audited by a certified independent company.
Additionally, all auxiliary materials (BoP) for constructing wind farms in Puerto Brisa and Uribia, La Guajira, will also be auctioned. The process will be managed by Escrapalia, a specialized auction platform by SURUS, with separate processes for wind turbines and auxiliary materials.
This auction marks a significant opportunity for EDPR to streamline operations and efficiently transition these advanced turbines into productive use, despite the challenges they’ve faced since their acquisition.
