Wedoany.com Report-Dec 10, Hidroelectrica, Romania’s largest electricity producer, and the Polytechnic University of Timisoara (UPT) have signed a Memorandum of Collaboration to promote research, innovation, and training in hydropower and engineering.
The agreement was signed at Hidroelectrica’s headquarters in Bucharest by Karoly Borbely, CEO of Hidroelectrica, and Florin Drăgan, rector of UPT. The partnership focuses on advancing the energy sector by utilizing the expertise and resources of both institutions.
“This Memorandum represents an important opportunity to strengthen the links between the technical education and the energy sector, at a time when the energy transition and sustainable development are becoming key priorities for our future. We are pleased to collaborate with the Polytechnic University of Timisoara to support innovation in hydropower and the training of the new generation of specialists who will contribute to the development of an increasingly efficient and greener energy system,” said Borbely.
Drăgan added: “Partnerships between academia and industry are essential for the development of an education system that meets both the demands of the market and the technological challenges of the future. The collaboration with Hidroelectrica represents an important step in the direction of innovation and training of professionals who will contribute to the transformation of the energy sector in Romania.”
