Wedoany.com Report-Feb 6, TMEIC Corporation Americas, part of Japan’s TMEIC Corporation, has kicked off full production at its new factory in Texas where it plans to produce 9 GW of photovoltaic (PV) inverters annually.
The manufacturing facility has produced more than 300 inverters since its initial launch in November 2024, TMEIC Corporation Americas said on Wednesday, noting that the output has surpassed its initial production expectations.
The factory is located in Brookshire, Waller County, near TMEIC's existing uninterruptible power supply and medium voltage drive manufacturing plant. Spanning 144,000 square feet (13,378 sq m), it will be initially operated at 9 GW but plans are in place to expand the production in future, depending on demand.
"The opening of this factory is a cornerstone of TMEIC's strategy to expand its US manufacturing presence, allowing us to meet the increasing demand for renewable energy solutions,” said Manmeet S Bhatia, president and CEO of TMEIC Corporation Americas. He added that with the additional capacity, the company is well-positioned to meet growing market demand in the sector.
TMEIC Corporation Americas, which is currently based in Roanoke, Virginia, previously announced that it plans to relocate its headquarters in March. The company will keep the Roanoke location to design, develop and engineer advanced automation systems, large AC motors and variable frequency drive systems for various industrial sectors worldwide.
