2025-03-31 16:06

Wedoany.com Report-Mar 31, Qinshan Nuclear Power Plant, China’s largest nuclear power complex, has completed the refueling and maintenance outage for Unit 2 of Phase II. During this period, the unit’s power output increased by 33 MWe. Unit 2, which began operating in 2004, was offline since 2002 due to planned refueling. The outage included significant maintenance activities, such as an in-service inspection of pressure vessels and a containment pressure test, as well as modernization of auxiliary systems. Notably, the stator of the generator was replaced, marking the first such operation at a Chinese nuclear power plant.

The plant aims to steadily increase its power output and conduct tests at various power levels to reach its transformation design capacity. The net electric power output increased from 670 MWe to 703 MWe, equivalent to an additional 33,000 kWh of electricity per hour. This upgrade reflects the continuous progress and reliability improvements in the plant’s operations, ensuring the safety and efficiency of its nuclear power generation.
