The approval enables KS ORKA to explore and develop geothermal resources in Tura, reinforcing the company’s focus on sustainable energy solutions. Supported by Kaishan Group’s headquarters, KS ORKA plans to form a project team to identify drilling locations and create engineering designs. Land acquisition and drilling of exploration and production wells are set to begin within 2025, aiming to establish a geothermal capacity of 50 to 100 MW in the region over time.

A spokesperson for KS ORKA stated: “This license marks a significant step in our efforts to expand geothermal energy in Europe. We are excited to build on the success of the Turawell plant and contribute to Hungary’s renewable energy landscape with innovative and sustainable solutions.”

The project aligns with Hungary’s growing interest in geothermal energy as a reliable and eco-friendly resource. The Tura region’s geological potential makes it a promising site for expanding clean energy infrastructure, supporting both local and regional sustainability goals. KS ORKA’s expertise, backed by Kaishan’s global experience, positions the company to deliver efficient and impactful geothermal development.

This initiative reflects a broader commitment to advancing renewable energy in Central and Eastern Europe, with Hungary emerging as a key player in the sector. The exploration license allows KS ORKA to leverage the Turawell plant’s existing operations while pursuing ambitious plans for additional capacity. The company’s focus on technical precision and environmental responsibility ensures that the project will prioritize long-term sustainability.

As KS ORKA moves forward, the Tura project is expected to create opportunities for collaboration with local stakeholders and contribute to Hungary’s energy transition. The planned drilling and development activities within the year signal a proactive approach to meeting the region’s energy needs. By harnessing geothermal resources, the project aims to provide a stable and renewable power source for communities in Tura and beyond.

The license confirmation underscores Kaishan’s strategic vision for global geothermal growth, with Tura serving as a cornerstone for its European portfolio. KS ORKA’s efforts in Hungary highlight the potential for geothermal energy to play a vital role in sustainable development, fostering optimism for future renewable energy projects in the region.
