Wedoany.com Report-Mar 31, New tariffs for gas and electricity will come into force in Uzbekistan from May 1, according to the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of March 28. The information was confirmed to Gazeta.uz by press secretary of Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Bekzod Khidoyatov.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev ordered to postpone the tariff increase.
Previously, the second stage of tariff increase was planned from April 1. This was provided for by the government resolution of April 16, 2024. The document has been amended accordingly.
The first stage of the increase was in May last year. Social consumption standards were introduced. The basic cost of 1 kWh of electricity for the population increased from 295 to 450 soums (+ 52.5%), 1 cubic meter of gas from 380 to 650 soums (+ 71%). With an increase in consumption volumes, the tariff increases several times.
From May 1, the basic tariff for electricity (within 200 kWh per month) will increase by 33.3% from 450 to 600 soums, and for gas by 53.8% from 650 to 1,000 soums.
