Wedoany.com Report-Apr. 15, Zhejiang Geely Holding Group announced robust sales for the first quarter of 2025, reaching 946,627 vehicles, a 31% increase compared to the same period last year.
New energy vehicles (NEVs) were a key driver of growth, with Geely Holding selling 463,372 NEVs in Q1, an 83% surge year-on-year. This resulted in NEVs comprising 49% of the company’s total sales, highlighting its focus on sustainable mobility.
Geely Automobile Holdings Limited, a core subsidiary, reported 703,824 vehicles sold in Q1 2025, up 48% from the previous year. Within this, NEV sales jumped 135% to 339,200 units, underscoring the brand’s rapid expansion in the electric and hybrid vehicle market.
Breaking down brand performance, the Geely brand sold 589,813 vehicles, maintaining its position as a market leader. Lynk & Co contributed 72,608 units, while ZEEKR, known for its premium electric vehicles, recorded 41,403 units sold in the quarter. Each brand showed steady progress in meeting consumer demand.
Volvo Cars, part of Geely Holding’s portfolio, achieved Q1 sales of 172,219 vehicles. Of these, 74,483 were NEVs, accounting for 43% of Volvo’s total sales, reflecting the brand’s commitment to electrification.
Polestar, another Geely-affiliated brand, saw a significant uptick, with 12,304 vehicles sold in Q1 2025, a 76% increase from the prior year. The growth signals Polestar’s rising presence in the global electric vehicle market.
Farizon New Energy Commercial Vehicle Group also performed strongly, with sales of 26,710 units, a 62% rise compared to Q1 2024. This growth highlights the increasing adoption of new energy solutions in the commercial vehicle sector.
Geely Holding’s Q1 2025 results demonstrate its strategic emphasis on innovation and sustainability.
