The leadership teams of BW ESS and Sungrow at the groundbreaking ceremony.
Wedoany.com Report-Feb 19, BW ESS and Sungrow have commenced commercial operations of the Bramley Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) in southern England, a 100MW/331MWh project. Sungrow supplied the battery units for the project, including its 3-hour duration PowerTitan 2.0, which has also been supplied to other developers for projects such as Fidra Energy's Thorpe Marsh BESS and West Burton C BESS. This is not the first time Sungrow and BW ESS have worked together, as they were also part of a supply agreement for the Hams Hall energy storage project in England. The CEO of BW ESS described this as a landmark moment for their UK rollout and a notable project in the context of the UK's energy transition. Sungrow conducted the world's largest real-world fire test of BESS units before developing this project. Last autumn, BW ESS merged with UK firm Penso Power, with a combined pipeline of around 5GW spread across the UK, Sweden, and Australia.
