Wedoany.com Report-Apr. 7, BYD, a prominent electric vehicle manufacturer, officially entered the Swiss market with a brand launch event held from April 1 to 2. During the event, the company introduced its initial lineup of vehicles to Swiss consumers. This includes the fully electric BYD SEAL and SEALION 7, alongside the plug-in hybrid SEAL U DM-i, providing diverse powertrain choices to aid Switzerland’s move toward sustainable transport.
Stella Li, BYD’s Executive Vice President, attended the launch and shared her optimism about the expansion. She stated: “We are excited to extend our sales network into Switzerland and bring more consumers the benefits of BYD’s sustainable technologies. We believe models equipped with our cutting-edge Blade Battery and CTB (Cell-to-Body) technology, like the SEAL and SEALION 7, as well as the DM-i Super Hybrid system in the SEAL U DM-i, will be well-received by local customers.” Her remarks highlight BYD’s focus on delivering advanced, eco-friendly solutions to the Swiss market.
To establish its presence, BYD has teamed up with Harmony, a well-known local dealership, to open its first showroom in central Zurich at Uraniastrasse 31. The company plans to expand further, with additional stores scheduled for Zug and other Swiss cities. This initial outlet marks the beginning of BYD’s retail network in the country.
In collaboration with Automotive Suisse, BYD is also preparing to launch two more locations in Lugano and Bellinzona. These sites will start trial operations in April and are slated for an official opening in the third quarter of 2025. By the end of the year, BYD aims to have 15 retail points operational across Switzerland. This expansion strengthens its European presence and supports the region’s shift to cleaner transportation options.
The introduction of these models and the planned network growth reflect BYD’s commitment to meeting Swiss consumer needs while promoting sustainable mobility. With its innovative technology and strategic partnerships, the company is poised to contribute significantly to Switzerland’s environmental goals, offering vehicles that blend efficiency and performance for local drivers.
