The deal includes 33 V236-15.0MW turbines and a long-term service agreement to ensure optimal performance. This marks Vestas' first major commitment to the model in Taiwan, a key market for the company. Construction for Fengmiao 1 is set to complete by the end of 2027, with work already underway since 2023.
President Purvin Patel of Vestas Asia Pacific praised the collaboration, emphasizing the project's significance as Taiwan's first large-scale offshore wind project. "We are thrilled to deepen our partnership with CIP on Fengmiao 1," Patel stated. Fengmiao 1 project CEO Mark Wainwright also highlighted the milestone, noting that Vestas will be the first to deploy such advanced turbines in Taiwan.
