Gear Ring for Construction Machinery

Typically consists of an outer ring, inner ring, and teeth surface, and transfers power through gear meshing to achieve mechanical energy conversion and distribution. It is a key component used in the transmission system of construction machinery, primarily for power transmission and mechanical movement conversion.

Material selection must balance strength, toughness, and wear resistance. Commonly used materials include 45 steel, which has good overall performance and is suitable for medium loads; 40Cr, which has high strength and toughness, suitable for high-load transmissions; ZG310-570, a cast steel with good casting and mechanical properties, suitable for large gear rings; and QT400-18, a ductile cast iron that is cost-effective with good wear resistance and impact resistance.

The nominal pressure endured by the gear ring varies greatly depending on the equipment type and working conditions. Small construction machinery generally operates between several megapascals to tens of megapascals, while large construction machinery can have gear rings that reach tens of megapascals or even higher.

As for the size range, the diameter of gear rings for small construction machinery may be only a few tens of centimeters, with a smaller module used for relatively simple, low-load transmissions. For large construction machinery, the diameter of the gear ring can reach several meters, with a larger module to meet high load and large torque transmission requirements.

The sealing surfaces of the gear ring are mainly used to prevent leakage of lubricating oil and entry of dust. Common sealing surface types include raised face (RF), male-female face (FM/M), and tongue-and-groove face (T/G).
