Harbin Transformer Limited Liability Company originally known as Harbin Transformer Factory, is located in the Yinbin Concentration Area of Harbin High-tech Development Zone. It is one of the major projects implementing Harbin’s new development strategy of “Northern Leap, Southern Expansion, Central Revival, and Strengthening Counties”. The company is a key initiative funded with an investment of 700 million yuan by the Harbin municipal government as part of the “Double Million” project (1 million volts and 1 million kVA capacity). Established in 1955, the company has over sixty years of professional transformer manufacturing history. In the 1970s, it was designated as a specific production factory for 110kV large transformer products by the national government. In the 1990s, it was again designated as a specific production factory for 220kV high-voltage large transformer products. The company’s scale, capacity, and level have been approved by six national ministries as a large Class II enterprise and one of the top 500 electrical and mechanical equipment manufacturers in China. The company passed ISO 9001 quality management system certification in August 1997, and in August 2003, it again passed the quality management system certification for the ISO 9001:2000 standard. In 1998, it was recommended by the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation as a major manufacturer of essential equipment for urban and rural power grid construction and transformation nationwide.
